Once again Posnack artists and photographers exhibited their work, this time as a part of Broward Art Guild’s Youth Competition which exhibited at Broward Main Library Gallery Six. Over 200 art pieces were on display by student artists from across Broward County, from 6th to 12th grade, with everything from photographs to oil paintings, colored pencils to watercolor. The art was on display from November 8th until December 3rd.

There was a public registration on November 13, in which awards were given out and the public was able to vote for their favorite pieces. The awards were split into two categories, 6th through 8th graders and 9th through 12th graders. Also, the reception allowed artists to meet and discover other student artists from the local community.

One of the many artists exhibiting was Ariel Fishman, who displayed two acrylic paintings, entitled Skull and Torn Apart, one of which won an Honorable Mention. Ariel found the exhibition really nice overall and enjoyed the variety of artwork exhibiting. She plans to visit the exhibit once again if she has the chance. However, she would have liked to be able to learn more about other students’ artwork, as each piece lacked a description.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the Scholastics Art and Writing Competition, which many Posnack artists and photographers will enter!
