The Posnack campus has recently experienced several  expansions in physical size and student growth. As a result, our faculty has increased as well. This year alone Posnack hired a new Legal Studies teacher, a new athletic trainer, a new Environmental Science teacher, and a new  Government, Economics, and Debate teacher.

New Environmental Science teacher, Dr. Suzanne Riskin,  has been teaching for seventeen years. In addition to teaching, she  trained as a medical doctor and she received her M.D. Degree. According to Dr. Riskin, she loved teaching from the moment she started 17 years ago, and she already loves teaching at Posnack.

Over the last two decades Dr. Riskin taught many courses, including biology, anatomy and physiology, and microbiology,  but her favorite subject to teach is Environmental Science. When asked what her favorite thing about teaching is, she immediately says that it is the students and she adds “Their questions are amazing and the conversations are extremely interesting. It’s always challenging in a really good way because

students bring things to the table that I just would never expect talking about, but are relevant and add to the course. It’s always new information every day, so I really love what students bring to the classroom.”  ”

— Dr. Suzanne Riskin

So what does our new faculty member like about Posnack? In particular, Dr. Riskin has been impressed with the advanced technology on campus. She’s also found the students to be well prepared and  adept participants during class discussions. When asked how Posnack differs from previous schools she’s taught at, Riskin speaks of how it has a more professional, yet welcoming atmosphere. There is also more of a Jewish aspect on campus. By the end of the year, she hopes for each student to come away with knowledge of environmental science and a sense of accomplishment.
